Intelligent Presence Sensing for Energy Efficiency

The CP Electronics GEFL is a low-profile, flush-mounted ceiling PIR (Passive Infrared) presence detector designed to automate lighting, heating, or ventilation loads. When it senses movement, it switches the load on; when the space is no longer occupied it turns off after a user-set timeout period. An adjustable internal light sensor (lux sensor) ensures lights are only used when natural daylight falls below a preset threshold, making sure the unit helps save energy rather than wasting it. 

Loads & Compatibility

Rated for 8A resistive/incandescent lighting, 4A fluorescent, and 3A LED/CFL/low-voltage lighting, the GEFL is compatible with most typical lighting installations. It can also control fan or ventilation loads. 

Adjustable Timing and Light Sensitivity

Users can adjust the timeout delay from 10 seconds up to 30 minutes, allowing the sensor to stay active as long as needed before auto-off. The lux control lets the unit ignore movement when natural light is already sufficient, so lights don’t activate unnecessarily. 

Size, Mounting & Build

The GEFL is slim and designed to be flush-mounted in ceilings: 76mm diameter with a depth of ~69mm, including the mounting depth. It requires a ceiling cut-out of approximately 64mm. The housing is flame retardant ABS, classed as a class 2 device, and the material and build are designed for indoor use. 

Operating Conditions & Standards

It operates from 220–240V AC at 50Hz, works between 0°C and +35°C, and is compliant with EMC and LVD standards. The GEFL has an IP40 rating
